Solidarity Services Tariff

According to the Decisions of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change no Δ5/ΗΛ/Β/Φ.1.21/οικ.23824/23.12.2013 and ΑΠΕΗΛ/Γ/Φ1.21/441/οικ.23609/19.12.2014  the “Solidarity Services Tariff” is provided by all electricity Suppliers and refers to legal persons governed by public Law providing welfare services, church-charity institutions and non-profit bodies governed by private law especially certified pursuant regulations of article 5 of L. 2646/1998 that provide social welfare services.

The Solidarity Services Tariff is applied to the total four-month period (if there is a meter that registers distinctively night consumptions, then it is applied for the day consumption only) provided that the electricity consumption refers to the coverage of the beneficiary’s needs for the provision of welfare services and up to the equivalent consumption limits foreseen as stated below irrespectively of the beneficiary’s category:

• For consumption up to 1,200 kWh in the four-month period, a discount of 70% is provided on the price of the Supplier’s applied tariff (competitive part) based on which the billing is realized for the beneficiary.

• For consumption from 1,201 up to 5,000 kWh in the four-month period, the 70 % of the consumption receives a discount of 70%, that is, from 1,201 up to 5,000 kWh a discount of 49% is provided in total on the Supplier’s applied tariff (competitive part) based on which the billing is realized for the beneficiary.

• For consumption from 5,001 up to 10,000 kWh in the four-month period, the 50% of the consumption receives a discount of 70%, that is, from 5,001 up to 10,000 kWh a discount of 35% is provided in total on the Supplier’s applied tariff (competitive part) based on which the billing is realized for the beneficiary.

• For consumption from 10,001kWh and more in the four-month period, discount is not provided, that is, the Supplier’s in force tariff is applied (competitive part) based on which the billing is realized for the beneficiary.

Note: If the beneficiary is included in the tariff category for which the bill is issued monthly, the above mentioned limits are applied proportionally.

Specifically, the charges for the Solidarity Services Tariff are the prices of the Supplier’s tariff that are applied (competitive part) based on which the billing is realized for each beneficiary of the Solidarity Services Tariff referring to the charge for the day consumption up to the consumption limit defined above, reduced by the percentage for each case of consumption limits defined above. For the rest, the Supplier’s tariff that is in force is applied per beneficiary.

The integration into the Solidarity Services Tariff is realized for the whole calendar year (from 1/1 until 31/12), that is, for all four-month bills issued during that year.

Application forms are submitted electronically, directly or through Suppliers at HEDNO’s website. For the submission of application form, the applicant’s name is required to be stated. With the application form, the applicant authorizes for research of the data submitted to the competent bodies (Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Welfare) which certify the integration into the beneficiary’s category. The consent for the collection and elaboration of these data is considered to be provided with the above mentioned applicant’s application form submitted electronically.

After the relevant elements being checked, the applicant is integrated into the Solidarity Services Tariff; the applicant and its Supplier are informed accordingly by HEDNO. If it is found that, during the inspection, the criteria are not fulfilled, the interested party is informed about the reasons on the rejection of the application form. HEDNO keeps an Archive of customers integrated into the Solidarity Services Tariff so as to be provided with the possibility of data review inspection and control automation.

The December of each year, re-examination is carried out about the integration conditions for those already included into the Solidarity Services Tariff. From the conduct of this inspection, if it is proved that certain beneficiary does not fulfill the integration conditions for the next calendar year, the Solidarity Services Tariff ceases to apply for the beneficiary in question.

For those integrated into the Solidarity Services Tariff, the submission of an application form for the next year is not required.

In case of changes in the elements included in the application form, a new application form must be submitted.
