Applications for the connection of PV stations from self-producers who have entered net metering or virtual net metering are now open
In order to implement the provisions outlined in Ministerial Decision ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΑΠΕΕΚ/15084/382 (ΦΕΚ Β΄759/05.03.2019), HEDNO would like to inform all interested parties that applications from self-producers who have entered net metering or virtual net metering, based on the new limits for power outlined in the above Ministerial Decision, as well as applications from Energy Communities who have entered virtual net metering will start on 07.06.2019.
Currently, HEDNO receives and processes applications only for PV stations without storage systems. Applications for all other technologies, a combination of two technologies and energy storage will take place later and the date of opening will be released through a new Announcement.
Application for PV stations connecting to the low voltage network will be submitted to the competent local branches of HEDNO (Areas). Applications regarding units that will be connecting to the medium voltage grid will be submitted to HEDNO's competent Regional Departments (Regions) for Interconnected Network applications (mainland Greece and interconnected islands). For Non-Interconnected Islands, all applications shall be submitted to HEDNO Areas together with all completed application forms and necessary documentation and details. New application forms and all relevant information regarding the updated legislative framework are published on HEDNO’s website.
Considering the completion of the first phase of the interconnection of the Cyclades, islands belonging to the electric systems of Syros, Paros and Mykonos, are now part of the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System Development Program (ESMIE) and therefore fall under the provisions of the above Ministerial Decision in terms of the maximum limits on power for stations that have entered net metering and virtual net metering in the Interconnected System.
Regarding the saturated grids of the Peloponnese (downstream Koumoundourou ultra-high voltage center) and South Evoia (area south of Aliveri including the islands of Andros and Tinos), the initial limit of 20 kW for the maximum power of self-production systems is no longer in force and maximum power limits as outlined in this Ministerial Decision will also be applied in these areas, until the limits of 30 MW and 10 MW respectively are reached, of l.4546/2018 (ΦΕΚ Α’ 101/12.06.2018) for self-producer stations that have entered net metering or virtual net metering and for stations from Energy Communities, if in the meantime there is no decision that withdraws the saturation.
