“Improving the Renewable Energy Sources licensing process– phase B, Licensing electricity production and storage, framework for the development of Pilot Sea Floating PV Stations and special provisions on energy and environmental protection”

As per Article 97, paragraph 3, L 4951/2022, the Network Operator, from the effective date of this law, has a power absorption window of ten (10) MW per substation on top of the existing limit, exclusively for the installation of RES and CHP  self-producers, self-producers with net-metering facilities, self-producers with virtual net-metering and self-producers under the special PV system development program,

This window of absorption is available for all substations (Υ/Σ) of Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network, including areas with saturated grids and excluding the Non-Interconnected Isalnds network only and it shall be allocated in the following categories of stations with a maximum limit of station power at ten kilowatt (10 kW):

  1. RES and CHP stations installed by self-producers and pertaining to residential buildings (residential use), including the stations under the PV systems development program, at a forty per cent percentage (40%).
  2. RES and CHP stations installed by self-producers and pertaining to the primary sector (agricultural use), at a thirty per cent percentage (30 %).
  3. RES and CHP stations installed by self-producers and pertaining to the secondary sector (other types of use), at a thirty per cent percentage (30 %).

As part of the application of the above and to ensure that the above limits are allocated, HEDNO would like to inform all interested parties about the following:

  • We accept applications for the connection of RES and CHP stations under the above categories, with a maximum station power limit at ten kilowatt (10 kW) and we shall immediately update applicants on the acceptance of their application by sending out Connection Agreements.
  • Connection applications for RES and CHP stations under the following categories, with a maximum station power limit at ten kilowatt (10 kW), which have been rejected by the Operator in at a time prior to the effective date of the law, can be submitted again to ensure that they are re-assessed.
