HEDNO is called upon to perform the role and mission assigned to it by the existing institutional framework for the exercise of the regulated activity of Electricity Distribution in a modern complex, constantly evolving environment. This environment is composed of a significant number of participants in the value chain and the electricity market where traditionally, network users, electricity suppliers, network operators, the market operator, etc. are active, but new entities are also emerging through the development of new business models and patterns. In the light of these changes, we are called upon to ensure in modern terms transparent and non-discriminatory access to the network for users, aiming at a continuous improvement in the quality of services.
Main objectives of our business planning
In order to achieve the following objectives, the business plan for the next five years foresees significant investments for the implementation of key modernisation, technological upgrading and business transformation projects.
These projects are expected to dramatically improve the level of services provided, upgrade the operation and role of the company in the electricity market, enhancing the role and highlighting the benefits for all users of the network and society.

We have created a portfolio of specific projects covering a wide range of important modernization activities such as smart grids, consumption telemetering, user tele-service and automation in many internal operations, always keeping an eye on all new trends in the electricity sector.

In order to achieve the intended benefits for Customers and for the entire Electricity Market, we will rely mainly on the appropriate and targeted modernization of the HEDNO, which will include, among others, the following:
Telemanagement of the main electricity networks of the country and decisive promotion of smart grids.
Tele-supervision of the production of the non-interconnected islands (where we are responsible for the management of the market).
Decisive promotion of remote metering of electricity consumption.
Geographical mapping of networks, which will be the digital basis for network & service operations.
Creation of modern tele-service channels (by telephone & internet) and their management centres.
Installation of modern information systems and further utilization of the Company's new ERP.
