Table of Social Residential Tariff Discounts

Discount on the electricity supply charge in €/kWh:

SRT A SRT B SRT C
0,075 0,045 0,100

The above discount applies in the supply charge for the daily consumption of the electricity Supplier.

For all others, the charges of the supplier’s applicable residential tariff and the regulated charges imposed by the applicable law on the residential customers apply, with the reservation of the more specific provisions related to the exemption of the Social Residential Tariff from part or all of certain categories of regulated charges.

Specifically, beneficiaries of Social Residential Tariff A and SRT C are exempt from the variable component of the System Usage Charges (SUC) and the Network Usage Charges (NUC), which are calculated based on the consumed electricity within the four-month consumption limits set out in Article 2. They are also fully exempt from the remaining components of the System Usage Charges (SUC) and the Network Usage Charges (NUC). Beneficiaries of SRT B are exempt from the fixed and standing charges of the Network Usage Charges (NUC). These exemptions, for all categories, apply to electricity consumption within the respective four-monthly consumption limits.

If these quarterly consumption limits are exceeded:

  • for over 10% excess, and provided the average quarterly consumption on an annual rolling basis, based on actual readings, exceeds the consumption limits set for each beneficiary, the Social Residential Tariff does not apply for the specific quarterly period;
  • for over 10% excess, provided the average quarterly consumption on an annual rolling basis does not exceed the consumption limits set for each beneficiary or for up to 10% excess, the Social Residential Tariff applies for the consumption within the set limits and the Supplier’s applicable residential tariff applies for the excess consumption according to the scales of total consumption.

In order to calculate the excess of the consumption limits of each category of beneficiaries, the electricity consumption of night tariff is not taken into account.

In the case of a Social Residential Tariff beneficiary with a night electricity consumption meter:

  • If the sum of the day and night consumption lies within the daily consumption limits of the beneficiary, the Social Residential Tariff discount applies for the night consumption as well as the exemptions from the regulated charges of the Social Residential Tariff and the night tariff.
  • If the sum of the day and night consumption exceeds the daily consumption limits of article 2, the Social Responsibility Tariff discount and the exemptions from the regulated charges of the Social Residential Tariff and the night tariff apply for the night consumption within the above limits and the excess night consumption is charged with the Supplier’s applicable residential night tariff using the scales of total consumption.

To apply the Social Residential Tariff discount on the night consumption, according to the above, the supply charge for the day consumption of the Supplier is taken as electricity supply charge.

If the consumption is less than 200 kWh on a quarterly basis, the Social Residential Tariff does not apply for the specific period.

For beneficiaries of SRT C cases (b) and (c) of paragraph 3 of Article 1 do not apply.

In case of exceeding the consumption limits (120 days equivalent), based on metered readings, the following apply:

  • For SRT C beneficiaries without a night-time consumption meter: The discount is applied to the daytime consumption up to the aforementioned limits. Any excess consumption is billed at the supplier’s applicable standard residential tariff.
  • For SRT C beneficiaries with a night-time consumption meter:
The discount applies to the total consumption (daytime and night-time), provided that the combined consumption does not exceed the above limits. If the total consumption exceeds the limits, the discount is applied first to the daytime consumption up to the limit, and then cumulatively to the night-time consumption up to the same limit. Any excess night-time consumption is billed at the supplier’s standard residential tariff.

The amount of the unit subsidy granted to SRT C beneficiaries depends on the energy savings achieved in relation to the four-month consumption limit. It is calculated as the product of the unit subsidy rate (as listed in the Social Residential Tariff Discount Table for K.O.T. C beneficiaries), multiplied by the ratio of the beneficiary’s consumption limit for the four-month period to their actual consumption during the same period. In no case shall the calculated unit subsidy exceed the amount listed in the Social Residential Tariff Discount Table for SRT C beneficiaries by more than 20% (i.e., €0.12/kWh).

Specifically, for beneficiaries who either themselves or a member(s) of their household require mechanical support, as well as for beneficiaries of SRT C, billing under the Social Residential Tariff is applied up to the beneficiary’s four-month consumption limit, regardless of any excess consumption beyond that limit.
