Hybrid Energy Project of Tilos (TILOS Project)

The TILOS Project is the first Hybrid Station (HS) in the Non-Interconnected Islands (NII) and represents a significant step toward energy autonomy.

Island of Tilos, Dodecanese, Greece
Year of operation • 2018

The project includes:

Wind turbine (800 kW)
Photovoltaic station (160 kW)
Accumulator system (2,800 kWh, power 800 kW)

Tilos, one of the nine islands in the Kos–Kalymnos complex, does not have a local generation station. In emergency situations, the hybrid station, together with a small diesel generator, meets the island’s total energy demand, promoting the use of clean renewable energy and energy autonomy.
